Song: A Drifting Broken Soul

A broken soul that can’t seem to find its way home
just when it nears it’s destination it drifts again all alone

Wandering through the still dark night, she finds no sweet rest
she is barren and empty; just like an empty nest

She tried to find love in all of the wrong places
looping knots in thick ropes and covering all three bases

In the still dark night being robbed of her virtue
over and over without a solemn end,
being taken advantage of again and again

She was ruined many years ago at the tender age of sixteen
when she was just a young and naive immature teen

At the age of seventeen her virtue by her second boyfriend was taking once more
this time without permission seeping the light of her precious womanhood
and revealing darkness behind closed doors

It took a long while for her to totally mend
then the turmoil started up once more and again
running out in the night with the wounds of being an abused child
with scars all open and bleeding with a treading puddle as long as the Nile

At the age of nineteen,
she began seeking love in a place where she knew she didn’t belong
a place infested with drugs and violence
she knew that she was truly going wrong

Then the man that took advantage of her
Told her many lies just to get inside of her pants
he even used drug money and riches to get sex to make her think
that it was truly romance,

then she was infected, with her first STD
making her wake up and come to her senses and open her eyes to really see

That she was heading down a road that she knew she couldn’t
travel alone, that’s when the Lord stepped in and helped her up
To carry her on,

When he nursed her back to good health
she then stepped back out in the world;
and put him right back on a shelf and went back out
to let her hidden sins once more and again unfurl

At the age of twenty, she left with a friend,
and didn’t say a word to her family
to tell then she wouldn’t be home again,
To live with her boyfriend for the moment
in a run down little house,
and to lay her head for shelter on an old battered couch

Over and over her boyfriend touched her in places
that she didn’t want him to
but, she knew there was nothing else for her to do

Then, she slowly but surely opened up and let him have his way
giving way to a frenzy climax
she kept the hot stinging tears in her eyes at bay

She was found the next day and brought back home
her parents didn’t want to talk to her
So in her room she stayed all alone

at church that Sunday she asked the Lord
for forgiveness again,
then she opened up her heart, and let him come back in

She did good for awhile and stayed out of harms way
until one hot sunny day

when a man from prison began to call her parents home
she knew accepting calls from this man was totally, totally wrong
She listened to this man over and over again
as he ran up the phone bill without a solemn end

When the phone bill reached its limit, the phone soon got cut off
and animosity again came into her house

The man wrote her letters because he couldn’t call her anymore
making her parents edgy and have uneasiness that they couldn’t ignore

They went and checked the mail everyday
and took the letters he wrote her and threw them away

her eyes wasn’t opened about this man until
an unknown girl called her and told her the truth
that this man was playing a game on her and some other women
obviously she was being a fool,

she made up her mind and went on her way
she didn’t want to be with him, she knew she just couldn’t stay

he threatned her behind prison walls that he would find her when he got out
she was so afraid to the point where she didn't even want to leave the house

Soon, she ignored this man and he got tired and left her alone
so she went on about her life to find a job so that she could carry on

in 2001, she knew at her interview when she turned the doorknob,
that she was about to land her very first job

she worked and never hardly missed a day,
and came into contact with many men along the way.

Two white boys were intrigued by her and both fell
instantly in love with her
then things began to happen quickly in a blur

She started dating one of the white boy’s after dating a man older than she
he was devastated when she told him that it wasn’t meant to be

She went on with the white boy and soon she got tired of him
so she broke up with him on the job in front of the sports gym

He got in his truck and left the job and sped away
and everybody looked at her, but she didn’t have any words to say

She stayed single for awhile, but she began to have sex with a man that worked next door
he went around spreading her name about and calling her a worthless hoar

She hated what was happening to her, but yet, she couldn’t stop
and when this man told her to meet him at each
opportunity she would hop

He pleasured her body over on the down low
knowing he had a girlfriend,
she knew she had went as low as she could go,

She suspected she was pregnant and the affair did end,
never to began ever again

A new separated man started work on her building,
and she was instantly intrigued by him
they grew into each other ignoring everyone else around them

They were feeling each other, but she knew she couldn’t have him
like she wanted too
but she waited around obviously being a fool

Soon she tire of him and began talking to this guy she had met in Wal-Mart
knowing deep down this drug dealer was going to break her heart.

This guy showed up at her house at odd hours of the night
her parents became worried
and with them she began to fight,

When she finally made up her mind to leave him,
he tried to talk to get her to stay
and leave with him to Dallas, Texas
but, she didn’t want to move away,

he moved on and told her
the man at her job was never going to leave his wife
he told her to wise up and to get a life,

She thought about what he told her, but he was no longer around
She was obviously torn
and couldn’t pick her head up off of the ground

She had high hopes again for that married man
until he burned her just like her ex tried to get her to understand

She was obviously broken in two
but the two did work things out and called a heartfelt truce

In early 2002 she met the man that changed her life
The man that she thought was going to call her his wife.
he wooed her and wined and dined her until she couldn’t
Take anymore
She just knew that he was the man that she was looking for.

What she didn’t realize was that he was going home to a woman he had
been with for seven years
someone he said he was going to leave once he faced his fears

She believed in him and stayed and continued to have sex with him
little did she know her chances with him was getting very slim

Once she saw that he wasn’t going to leave after all,
she broke up with him and prepared to stand tall

After a month he called her and told her the woman in his life was gone
she didn’t believe him
but she took a chance still remaining strong,

Indeed, the woman had really left
so she moved in with him with his help

They argued the majority of the time,
but always managed to make love
when he would feed her a sweet line

She sensed he wasn’t being faithful but she still held on tight
not knowing in her stomach a baby was growing making her nauseous and
queasy through the night

he sensed she was pregnant and called a doctor the next day
and demanded her to take a pregnancy test no matter what she had
to say,

just when she was scheduled to take a pregnancy test that Tuesday at two,
she caught her SO in the bed with his supposedly best friend
she then realize that she was being a fool

she left that very night and never looked back
that’s when she finally got her life on track

all the while she was pregnant, God dealt with her
and that’s when she got saved after all this in her life had occurred
she gave birth to her daughter almost at the brink of death,
but God brought her through
and restored her back to health

now she’s called out to do his will
no time to play around
her covenant she made with him is sealed

she has no time to get off track
God is there to watch her back

She’s been called she can’t be questioned
She has to do what God says
or else she will pay the price instead

No one else can tell my story but me
and now you know the reason why
I’m so cautious, now do you do see?

I left out a great deal of this story, only touching the general bases…so
the story is out for the whole world to plea
but I can’t be brought anymore to my knees
because I’m already there and it feels so good
To share….
