[Intro]
Growing up, (Rap) Genius played a significant role in my life as it became the number one place for me to understand Jay Z’s triple entendres, Eminem’s multisyllabic rhymes, or even who Drake was subliminally dissing. It’s the only community where I connected with like-minded rap fans, to the eventual broader transition for all music lovers. Being an APM @ Genius can easily be defined by Eminem’s intro on Lose Yourself. I’m not letting this slip.
[Experience]
Most recently, I tackled growth experimentation at Soapbox with the main goal of converting users from free to paid. While acting as a liaison between product, marketing, and support – I achieved success by building a sales operations playbook, A/B tested email-onboarding campaigns, and cohort-specific upgrade incentives. In addition, I combined my design, development, and analytical skills to ship a user-facing feedback tool that is used to drive product decisions till today.
While in school, I did a few internships – I joined Uber Eats to support the launch of 30 cities in 1 day. This included conducting competitive research for Canada, using SQL & Sheets daily to define ways to boost courier acquisition and finding gaps to reduce churn. Before that, I worked within product-focused banking internships, where I learned the fundamentals of working with cross-functional teams, and how to launch features fast. Each experience shaped my knowledge of building financial cases, conducting market/customer research, and designing experiences alongside the defined user.

In my everyday life, I’m focused on strengthening my skills as a developer by learning React and building side projects that have allowed me to understand how to navigate through technical constraints, manage a small team, and make product decisions all first-hand. Additionally, to satisfy my creative side, I’ve scaled a photography business and worked with clients such as Shopify, Samsung, and even sold a wallpaper to Google.

My goal is pretty simple, to build great things with great people and I have no doubts that Genius is the best place to achieve that. It would be an absolute honour to join the Product team at Genius to celebrate More Than The Music, and annotate the world.
