Horror Movie Woman (in the credits
we know her as Female Victim #1) steps
from an old farmhouse with her midriff
flashing in the porch lights and the set lights made
to look like porch lights. The make up
artist who applied the oil to Horror Movie Woman’s
skin is pleased with his role in her
luminescence that draws us, the voyeur, in
to Horror Movie Woman’s short story (remember:
cubic zirconia only shines for so long). Oh, she’s
so sexy, all exposed and vulnerable. Oh, she’s
so pretty, calling sadly for an unseen dog. Oh,
what tragedy it will be to lose this beauty.

The swell of violins, unheard by Horror Movie Woman,
causes something more violent to raise its
ogre head in the confines of the director’s pants. He
breathes shallowly in anticipation. Our Horror
Movie Villain (in the credits we mistake him for
the production’s true monster) creeps with glinting
silver in hand behind Horror Movie Woman. The knife
flashes so brightly it rivals Horror Movie Woman’s illuminated
landing strip of skin made to receive penetrating desires. The
director’s hips buck as the blade sheathes itself within
that oh sexy sexy strip of skin. Blood blooms about the blade.
She cries out, collapses forward, the violins can swell
no further. Her fall to the grass, his disappearing
into the night, the director’s cut signals the end
of this climatic moment and promises
something more sinister to come.
