I had a dream! I had this crazy dream about a land fill, a huge land fill that I would dig out in somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. Where I could bring, in the middle of the night, all of the art that I don’t want, that I don’t care about, that I don’t love any more from the collection that I just want to get rid of, and that I can’t sell because if you de-excess and you piss off all the art dealers they get really mad at you. You offend the artists. Even if you ask them if they wouldn’t mind taking it back free of charge you really get еverybody upset in the art world. So thе best thing is to dispose of all this art that nobody cares, nobody wants anymore, in fell swoop, in one great big art dump!
So I’m bring my truck in the middle of the night and I’m thinking nobody’s seeing me and going to bring this down and I put everything into containers because God knows there might be some archeologist in the future, who 500 years from now would think all of this stuff is precious. Right now it means nothing to me and it means maybe nothing to anyone else
So I’m rolling it down the edge of the side of this land fill and all of the sudden one of these creates breaks open and I see this blue thing. I going, oh, damn, I don’t want to throw that one away. Damn. I’ve got to go and get this one back. So I change my mind about this piece. I go down into the land fill and I’m grabbing this wonderful blue box and then there are all of these trucks pulling up above my head. Guess what? It’s Mr. Sanchee. He must have heard about this from somebody so he’s bringing all his junk that he wants to dump and then I run to the other side of the land fill because I’m going to be crushed by his crates. Then there’s all these museums around the world who have been collecting millions of objects for centuries that are mainly piled up in an infinite amount of store rooms around the world. And Mr. Pino who brought these beautiful exhibitions to Venice well he still has loads of objects that he’d rather no one knew he even bought in the first place. He’s bring them over to the art dump right now!
And there’s Maya Hoffman! She’s heard about it too. So she’s there. And Elly and Jennie and Amelia Mucchia, she hasn’t forgotten. She got loads of stuff she wants to pour into this land fill. And I’m trying to get out of this art dump. I’m going back up this side then I’m running over to that side. Because all this art is just pouring down over the edges like an avalanche and it’s going to crush me. And like in all dreams your just climbing and climbing and climbing and you just never can get out of the art dump!
