Song: From Thread to Pattern

Come wanderer cross the threshold, tell me where you’ve been going
Your eyes are not jesting
I’m Dwyvach weaver-woman whose art is ever growing
My loom’s never resting

See loom of weavings and see windings and bindings
Gurgi’s poor tender head won’t understand a thing

The weaver’s craft might be the one I’ll find in life for me
Will you share the secrets

That I will do but beware, an easy task it will not be
Your strength, may you keep it
The cloak you’re wearing clearly has seen better days
You’ll weave yourself a new one, learn the ancient ways

No spinnings are the tasks of bold and clever men

As long as it gets done the work will not complain

From thread to pattern it’s a long way
Though bruised and battered you’ll never lose your spirit
Life is a loom full of lives and days
And weave your pattern the way you want to see it
This is far better than what cloak I’ve ever had before
Each thread in my memory

Well-woven work it is indeed, I’ll teach you so much more

This is not my destiny

Among the finest weavers you’ll be any day
Yet I see in your eyes you do not wish to stay
