[Verse]
Via Railing back home, I guess I had to backtrack
Gotta tell my old friends 'bout new girls throwing ass back
And how I've turned into someone they holla back at
And how one girl caught my heart and got the last laugh
Wasn't flawless, I've been shot down by a few shorties
That's nothing, I've met people who've shot down a few bodies
Young girls raised by young boys who dream of driving Bugatti's
But they trapped, and think the key out is to become the new Gotti
On the lighter note, seen sparks fly then die like a tech crisis
People look at themselves, the mirror not reflect kindness
Physical foreplay turn into emotional horseplay
Leaving friendships, relationships in a poor state
Seen people opposite, my position and lived through problems
And down bottles to find the message that could solve them
Thinking that each night was awesome and awe filled
But the next day you're depressed and feeling awful (damn)
Seen how songs harmonized in a youthful melody
Break apart and become noises lacking chemistry
Only talking on drunk nights thinking you're meant to be
But when sun rise like a light switch, talking ends indefinitely
I used to strut like a peacock, filled with confidence
But truthfully I been feeling my path is the wrong directing
Walking on so-called right, but always staring at the left side
Thinking about when I told everyone back home I said I
Would be the man to take my fam to its next high
My mom's a boss, my dad has a masters, the bar is set high
And instead of high jumping, I'm up high just free falling
Saying I'm my own man, but still need Pops to keep calling
Sometimes I think that following my dream is a failing mission
I love to write, it's my dream, but I'm literally chasing fiction
I just hope I can work hard, to make my fantasy vision
Into the reality, I live in, have my story go as I predicted
Let me explain how I began to rope these beats
Grade twelve found poetry fell for its potency
Back then, I didn't think people would notice me
Figured they would think I was just joking he's
No rapper, he's just an actor in this play right?
But I sharpened my pen until it was like a legend playwright
Not perfect yet, performing still gives me stage fright
Shadows to shining, black diamond what I'm made like
Thought the doubting would suffocate and drown me
But you know a thunderstorm's coming when it's cloudy
Fully-fledged power surge, hopefully these cowards learn
That I was powerful, and still all of my power's earned
Distinguished discipline, laser-focused creating prose
Pushing back the painful, made all the gains grow
I'm sure now, life will work out, people with turn up!
Buzzer beater verse, swish, the verse clutch
I guess this is the part where I give out all of my gratitude's
Thanks to friends, letting me rap at pre, despite your attitude
Thank Jellifish for the bass, eight o eights, and percussions
Giving me a soundtrack to all my internal discussions
Thank anyone interested in my monologues and soliloquies
Interested in my short stories building into trilogies
Shoutout to y'all who gave me things to whine about
Four years later, it's just shit for me to write about
Forever grateful for all these first impressions
Got to love a life that doesn't go as expected
Forever grateful for all these first impressions
Got to love a life that doesn't go as expected
Amen
