In my last life I was an oyster
I built up my shell from calcium and carharbon
Now I am the one who shucks oysters
To keep my family from starharvin

When that cycle starts over again
I'll call up all my closest friends
And bear ourselves down to that ocean shore
To become mollusks once more

I spend my evenings on a concrete stair
Snorting ibuprofen and cracking my knuckles
It's my dream to buy a soft armchair
So I can rest my muscles, my oyster shucking muscles

When that cycle starts over again
Ill blow off some steam before it ends
Because I can't carе about all my days
All this time I'm just whiling away

In a different, past timе, I wasn't happy
But at least my body was hard and strong
Or maybe that was when I was a snappy
Crayfish who lived in a salty pond
When that cycle starts over again
I hope I get to feel something then
Oh how happy I'll be a snail in the sea
With a hard little shell, a foot with no knees

Oh when that cycle starts over again
I won't bother to count how long it has been
When I am borne to that ocean shore
And become a mollusk once more
