Verse 1
If I could turn back time to seein' ya eyes
Light up a dark night~ put the sun in the sky
I'd try to live everyday twice
To cherish the prize of ya presence
I neglected to realize
And, yeah, I look back and have to ask why
We don't see that life ain't a game
Til halftime
Perhaps, I ain't alone~ it still feels like that
I'm prone to turn around thinkin' you'll be right back
But you gone and my heart can't find the right track
To beat to, I need you and that ain't a light fact
In this state, I'm see through in transparent pain
Tears fall like rain I'm full of doubt and shame
Disdain for myself knowing all I could've gained
With your help for sure, it could've shadowed the blame
Of not being there, being fair to who you became
In my own foolishness, I went and pushed you away
Verse2
No friendship should have to end in pain but all do
We sense it, and the floor is what we fall through
I caused you such shame in my disrespect
Cause you changed ya own way and I felt left
Behind you and, mind you, the heart in my chest
Almost failed as a part of it experienced death
It's no rest here my gestures are haunted and weak
I'm pressed to reach out but I don't wanna speak
Just a coward in retreat, the last chance that I had
To give you a better word was wrapped in my wrath
And it's not that you were fast, not that you had crashed
But my own inability to save you from that
Yeah, I'm selfish, missin' you more now that you gone
With absolutely no chance to say I was wrong
I hold on for dawn hoping that when it breaks
That the light from your life might land on my face
That the light from your life might be seen in my ways
And that the light from ya life might lead me to pray
And dry these tears enough so that I might grow on
To think better for the future cause life goes on
Though Pac said it best I can only express
What's in my own heart and thus I confess
I apologize to your life in my deepest regret
The only way to pay my debt is to never forget
YOU
