It was 5am with intrusive Voices
And I was 14 days into the bender
There was chasers for the liquor
But I ended up Chasing my mind
My mind was bending
And I was Chasing Time
I was admitted into the Psych Ward
Down the hall a man bouncing off of padded walls
Yet there was a nice view out the 5th Floor Windows
And from so far up I didn’t feel so tall
I found myself at the bottom
Needing to find a way to crawl out
So they medicated my mind
But it wasn’t the right pill
I spent 9 months of my time in Apathy
I was going crazy, what the wrong pill can do to you
I was awake for my death & spent 9 months in Purgatory
And 14 years later I still disassociate under the right light
I think back to the 5th Floor
And how it made mе hungry for sobriety
