[Verse]
I wrote this song at three in the morning
I apologise, I'm tired, so while I'm in mourning
Of the loss of what could have been a masterpiece
I suppose you're stuck with this rambling release
And I wrote this song thirty thousand feet in the air
There's just night below me, I don't know where
We are but the air pockets shake the plane
It was a semi- relaxing journey, such a shame

[Chorus]
A majority of us are shaken by the disturbance
Shaking us with the shakin' of the turbulence
So I thought I'd ramble on
While I try not to worry, I'll write this song

[Verse]
I wrote this song at three in the morning
Creative, blurry-eyed and yawning
After all, that's when all the ideas come
Coz it is the time for the surge of lyrical fun
And I wrote this song on this vibrating vessel
Desperately trying to wrestle the air pressure level
Stumbling about through the aisles
I've been doing this for a little while
[Bridge]
A woman sitting in B10
Drops her black ballpoint pen
It rolls along the floors, under the seats
And it stops right at my feet
But as I bend down to retrieve this ship of writing
The plane shakes again and send it flying
The time I had now gone from my hands
Slipped through my fingers like hot sands
These moments depleted, baby I'm flyin' away
Can't turn the plane around, can't revisit those days
I'm so far above the cities below
Memories laid out around me for show

[Verse]
And I wrote this song thirty thousand feet in the air
But no-one else around me seems to care
That this is a one way trip, once it's done, it's done
I suppose that's part of the joy, part of the fun
And I wrote this song at three in the morning
Jolted awake by the shake with no warning
By the violent shift in airflow on the sky
The time should be mine in my mind

[Chorus]
A majority of us are shaken by the disturbance
Shaking us with the shakin' of the turbulence
So I thought I'd ramble on
I tried not to worry, I wrote this song
