The air is thick and sickly sweet
Incense, in a sense, but incomplete-
I try to keep my longing disguised
Yearning with a capital Y am I surprised
My window’s stuck. Painted shut
Pulling just kicks up more dust
I need to breathe but I forget how
All that’s left are my thoughts and who I am now

I wax poetic. It drips like a candle
Burning my fingers. More than I can handle
How long can summer be
Turning the hurt into a past time
I hope it turns out better than last time
My wax poetry

I make friends with the spiders in my plants
Just to have an audience oh i never had a chance
Moon in thе sky waxes and she wanes
Sеasons start to change but I stay the same
The silence hurts. Much too loud
I miss anonymous crowd
I start to sing to the girl in the mirror
Did she respond? It’s getting hard to hear her
If I sleep dreams are rare
God is there somebody out there
I make a wish upon a star
Does light get lonely when it’s traveling so far

I wax poetic. It drips like a candle
Burning my fingers. More than I can handle
How long can summer be
Turning the hurt into a past time
I hope it turns out better than last time
My wax poetry

I make friends with the photos on the wall
They have seen it all. Still they never call
Stars in the sky flicker and they die
Inside I start to cry. But here i am alive

I wax poetic. It drips like a candle
Burning my fingers. More than I can handle
How long can summer be
Turning the hurt into a past time
I hope it turns out better than last time
My wax poetry
My wax poetry
