How did you start rapping?

I wrote my 1st verse in 3rd grade, and over the years I would write like a verse every two years for fun. I always loved music and basketball. Fast forward to freshman year, I started writing, and by the end of the year, I had started recording (I was alright for a beginner). More people started to like my music and I loved music so it fit

Who are your musical influence?

KanYe is number one, without a doubt, I heard Through The Wire as a little kid at my cousin’s house and it changed my life. You can catch plenty of KanYe references in my music. Joey Bada$$’s music from last year, but I don’t listen to his 2013 music. KRIT, Kendrick, Nas, K.I.N.E.T.I.K., Mos Def, and Common (especially on The Flame) are the other main ones

Tell us how The Flame came about

I was thinking about what Hip-Hop meant to me, the industry today and hip-hop's total beauty. Originally the two verses were compressed into one, and the first verse was basically a checkpoint of my career. But my laptop broke and I had one of the verses on Facebook. Stretched it out into two verses and then it came about

Tell us how Down Low Pt. 3 came about

This one was me wondering what beat to start “Floorboards” off with, I already promised that I would outdo “Hello”, but only “The Flame” and “Birds Eye View” were completed. I was chilling at home listening to music and “The Glory” came on the shuffle and I just thought it was the one, wrote some verses. But I had recorded a verse to “m.A.A.d city” (JoeJas was supposed to be on it, but his laptop broke) and had no idea where to put it. I thought it would be cool to throw it on their to show I can do the soulful beats and the tougher ones too

Tell us how Floorboards (Song) came about

Illu$trious sent me the beat a while back and I really liked it, I took it and originally it was me, this dude named “Beyond”, and Bri.Real.Ill, but Beyond’s equipment made his verse sound really bad and he told me to take him off. The concept is just about being in the basement of rap music, and I just created a whole bunch of metaphors, Bri went in too, respect to her

How do you feel about your ranking?
Could be higher if I work harder, I’m a competitor so I’m studying my music to see what I can do to be number one as I write this (also taking advice from another user). I know what I can do to be better. An honor to be top 13 on a website with a lot of talent though, RG Tape will be fire

Do you have any other projects in the works as of now?

I have plans, haven’t started them yet
1. I have plans for another EP with my producer Illu$trious, he’s sent me some beats, but I’m hoping for a late November/December release
2. My tape coming out on March 9th, 2015 called “Live From The Basement” might start writing for that in a little, but most likely not
Right now I’m just doing features and collabs

What do you have to say to your fans and your voters?

Thank you for picking me, it’s an honor to be in the top 13. Hope to progress into the top artist one day

Where do you want to eventually end up in terms of your music?

Where every artist wants to be, number one, no one wants to say someone is better than them. It’s very ambitious but I think where I’m at right now, as a 15 year old, is a higher level than many people have reached, I HAVE LOADS OF WORK TO DO THOUGH. I’m willing to put in the time and effort, I will never stop competing
