Song: Sweet Baby Rays: a Ballad of Personal Enlightenment

My presumptions rest unwarranted
Elitist powers control their dissonance;
Sweet reminders of their unfamiliar ascent

Certainty remains abundant as dreams
Aware of detachment from one's own foundation;
Baby steps through a habitual routine

Betwixt the hemispheres of my unsound mind
A notion of comfort enlightens my soul;
Rays of rapture, purity engulfs me

My death was prevalent, my birth proposition
What's next is bleak, far beyond remote distance
Excluding the doubt I so fondly portray
Intuitively I expect to accept the next day

Heaven is ultimately a replica of fallacious archetypes
No better than the earth its inhabitants had neglected
Judgement is vast, and falsehood is pure;
This place is no home for me
Hell is what happens when conscience is vacant
No worse than the earth that its natives desire
Judgement is vast, and falsehood is pure;
This place is no home for me

Betwixt the hemispheres of out universal mind
A permanent placement resides with us all
Judgement is vast, and falsehood is pure;
I've come to accept it as home

I never feared death, it's not what I see
This life, the next life, they all contain me
Excluding the doubt, I lie myself down
And wake as a bottle packed tightly of Brown

Disclaimer to those who may find this absurd
I may have used a thesaurus to translate a few words
But don't be upset, please do not hunt me down;
By the time you find me, my meniscus will be amongst the ground
And I'll die once again, and be born as a floor
A barbed wire fence, or a marvelous french door

This poem is dedicated to my dear friend Leah Weigel, and our speculative comrade, Henry David Thoreau
