[Verse 1]
My name is Matthew Campbell and I really love to sing
I've been in the Christmas pageant choir I think since I was three
This year I became old enough to try out for a lead
I hope to get a solo which means only sung by me
Gloooooooooooooooooooooria
It could be the greatest thing ever
[Verse 2]
Auditions came November I had practiced night and day
No one else I knew was trying out so I thought I had it made
But something there surprised me, a face I'd never seen
Her name tag just said Lori and I heard her practicing
(Lori) Gloooooooooooooooooooooria
This might not work out as great as I originally thought
[Verse 3]
My forehead started sweating and my stomach was now sick
The tryouts started so I had to think of something quick
Aha, I knew just what to do; I ran out to get some snow
Then whoops I dropped it down her shirt before her turn to go
(Lori, off-key) Gloooooooooooooooooooooria?
It worked better than I had planned
[Verse 4]
It was my turn next, I stepped forward and gave it all my heart
The director, Mrs. Hamil, smiled and said, "You got the part"
Gloooooooooooooooooooooria
Then I saw her crying
[Verse 5]
I started feeling bad for what I'd done to the new kid
I went back to Mrs. Hamil and I told her what I did
She shook her head and said that I had acted carelessly
But she didn't look too mad when she thanked me for my honesty
Then she held her finger up to say she wasn't finished yet
She looked at me and Lori and said, "Let's make it a duet"
(Matthew and Lori) Gloooooooooooooooooooooria
(Matthew) I'm sorry for that snow down your shirt
(Matthew and Lori) Gloooooooooooooooooooooria
(Lori) That's OK, it was warm in here
(Matthew and Lori) Gloooooooooooooooooooooria
(Matthew) I think I like duets (Lori) Me too!
(Matthew and Lori) And I made a new friend today
My name is Matthew Campbell and I really love to sing
